Our beautiful department was one of the pioneers in outdoor hotels and is the second most attractive in terms of camping in France. Thanks to the numerous green landscapes and the cultural and history heritage of Vendée, we are proud to invite you to an ideal holiday spot.
THE BEACH :
THE JOY OF CAMPING IN THE VENDÉE
Just 50 metres from the beach, our campsite in Saint-Hilaire-de-Riez is the ideal base for exploring the Vendée coastline.
Being at the water’s edge means you can enjoy relaxing swims and try out plenty of water sports such as windsurfing, catamaran sailing or even surfing, a favourite sport in Vendée.
The big beaches in the Vendée have kids’ clubs so that little ones can have loads of seaside fun while playing with other children.
MARKETS
FOR STOCKING UP WITH LOCAL PRODUCTS
There are loads of markets in the Vendée! Vegetables, fish, charcuterie, cheeses and specialities from the Vendée; the local producers will be delighted to show you their delicious produce.
Stroll along the colourful alleys and sample the Vendée’s delicious produce. We’re sure you’ll stock up once you’ve sampled it. In high season, you’ll also find craft markets with a range of local crafts.

The Vendée is home to a wide variety of landscapes – you’ll see lots of green here! If you love walks and hikes, set off on an adventure from the campsite. The Vendée coast is lined with forests, perfect for reconnecting with nature.
On foot or by bike, follow the footpaths and cycle paths and soak up the coastline’s seaside atmosphere, the heady calm of the pine forests, the marshes teeming with animal and plant life… You’ll find a natural treasure trove at your fingertips during your holiday in Vendée.
